Welcome Aboard
We are the Mariner Scout Ship TRADEWIND, Girl Scout troop 32609 based at the Port of Redwood City in Redwood City, California. As part of the Girl Scouts of Northern California, we offer a unique opportunity for girls ages 14 to 18 (8th grade through high school) to dive into the exciting world of boating, sailing, and maritime adventure.
Every Saturday, our crew meets to build skills in teamwork, leadership, and seamanship. Whether we’re learning to sail, navigating the Bay, or getting hands-on with boat maintenance (yes, there’s lots of scrubbing, swabbing, and polishing!), there’s always something challenging and fun to do together.
You don’t need to live in Redwood City to join us! If you’re a girl within the age range and can regularly attend meetings, you’re welcome to come aboard. No previous boating experience necessary.
If you’re looking for adventure, leadership, friendship, and a strong sense of accomplishment, we might be the ship for you. Come sail with us and see what you’re capable of!

Whether you’re interested in sailing, learning new skills, making friends, or just love being out on the water, you’re welcome to stop by one of our Saturday meetings at the Port of Redwood City. You’ll get to meet our crew, tour our boat — the TRADEWIND — and learn more about what we do. No experience is necessary, and you don’t have to live in Redwood City to join. If you’re a girl between 14 and 18 and looking for adventure, leadership, and teamwork, we’d love to meet you!
